Standard  EC2.13

Utility systems* are maintained, tested and inspected.

  • *Utility Systems: Organization systems for life support, surveillance, prevention, and control of infection: environmental support and equipment support. May include electrical distribution; emergency power: vertical and horizontal transport: heating and air conditioning: ventilation: plumbing, boiler, and steam: PIPED GASES : VACUUM SYSTEMS: communication systems including data exchange systems.

Standard  EC.1.9

A management plan addresses utility systems*.

b. assess and minimize risks of utility failures; and

C. ensure operational reliability of utility systems

Medical gas and  vacuum Inspectors and Verifiers shall successfully complete a 32-hour training course including a written  and a practical examination covering all facets of ASSE Standard 6020, 6030, NFPA 99, NFPA99C and NFPA 50.
